Less than 100 days are remaining to ICC World Cup 2019, and preparation and team combination of the teams are almost on the final stage. In addition to this, the Indian cricket team unveils the latest jersey for the event.
Indian Skipper Virat Kohli and the Veteran MS Dhoni showed off the new Shirt in Hyderabad on the eve of the first ODI against Australia. India women’s T20 skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues with Ajinkya Rahane and Prithvi Shaw were also present in the event.
The New Jersey is also made up of recycled material as the previous jersey. But New Jersey has a few changes. The color of the collar areas in the previous jersey was orange, but in this Jersey the color is blue. New Jersey has some interesting facts engraved on it. The dates of both 50-over World Cup wins and T20 World cup win mentioned below the back collar. The color of the body portion change to little dark from the sky blue. The tri-color strip has been removed from the shoulder portion.
Indian Skipper, Virat Kohli during the launch said, “Similar to millions of Indians across the country, this team embodies a fearless spirit that we truly believe in and that’s what the world sees every time we step into the field,”
He added, “Over the years, our cricket has evolved – the way we approach games and embrace situations are different but what stands out is the confidence in our individual skills and our commitment to succeed as a team. This new team kit is a testament to our style of play, it is inspired by us and the new India.
India will start their journey in the World Cup on 6th June against South Africa at Southampton. The action of the World Cup starts on 30th May.
